Lil Miss Happy: 100 things number 8 +

Here are some more things that make me happy: (Click here to read my previous '100 things' posts)

Opening a package in the post

Falling for someone and feeling adored - probably the best feeling ever?

Flowers -  I just love them, especially after receiving a bouquet  at work for my birthday and for                Valentines day

I love driving - especially on the motorway. Listening to music whilst driving really calms me down and makes me happy!

I love chilling in my pyjamas. My job is quite demanding, so it's nice to make up for it by relaxing on a Sunday :)

I love staying in hotel rooms with amazing views

Learning something new. That sense of accomplishment is a great feeling!

My job. I love my job - when I do well I feel extremely happy! Working hard is so worth it!

Sweets - I do try to eat healthily, but I just cannot resist sweets
Candlelit dinners - I went on Saturday night with my other half and it was so beautiful. I definitely cherished every single moment.

Lil Miss Shopaholic: Recent haul +

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! I haven't done a blog post in ages, so I've decided to outline what I have purchased in the last few months:

A Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch which was given to me for my birthday
A designer inspired handbag from eBay
An oil burner from Wilkinson's. I am currently burning a wax tart. If you think candles are too expensive - buy a wax tart! They only cost £1 and they smell so much stronger than a candle! All you need is a tea light underneath!
I purchased quite a few wax tarts from the Yankee candle stand in Debenhams! My favourite wax tart is  'Beach Flowers'.
I love Jelly Belly candles, which you may have gathered from this post. As I loved the Bubblegum candle a bit too much, I decided to buy the jar version - which is a lot bigger, and therefore will last longer. This scent is very strong - it's definitely my favourite scented candle :)
I also purchased a clock from Next to place on my dressing table. Now I can keep an eye on the time whilst    I'm getting ready for work!
I went a bit crazy in Next and purchased three cushions. I love Next's home ware section - it's just perfect for me!
A close up of the cushions!
I also purchased this makeup bag from Primark. I used to have a cream makeup bag (link) but it got very dirty! Black is definitely the best for storing makeup!
I'm also going on holiday soon, so I needed a bag to store my makeup! I hope this is big enough - I'm not the sort of person who believes in packing lightly!

What have you purchased recently?

Lil Miss Moisturised: Favourite body lotion!

I posted earlier that I loved body oils, but as they can get quite messy (and they're definitely not travel friendly), I decided to purchase a body cream.

This Soap and Glory Smoothie Star body lotion is definitely my favourite body lotion to date! I have dabbled with the likes of Nivea, Vaseline and Garnier - but this one beats the lot! It makes my skin feel very smooth and soft - it's not too heavy and not too light either!

The first thing I like about this body lotion is that it is free from parabens (nasty chemicals which can potentially cause cancer!). Most moisturisers contain parabens, so this is a major plus point!

The second thing I like about this body lotion is that it contains almond, cocoa, yoghurt, oat and honey - all of these are great for your skin! It also smells of almonds, oats and brown sugar (more like digestive biscuits to me)

I also love the fact that the body cream has a pump - which makes it sanitary!

This body pump retails at £10.00 and can be purchased from Boots. There's currently a 3 for 2 offer at Boots, so I will definitely be stocking up!

What's your favourite body cream?

Lil Miss Outgoing: Dans le noir review *

Hi guys! Hope you've had a wonderful weekend!

On Saturday, I went to an amazing restaurant called Dans Le Noir which is in Farringdon. It involves eating a meal in pitch black. You have no idea what you're eating and you only find out once you've finished the meal!

It's more than just a restaurant - it's all about the experience! There are several menus you can opt for! I went for the vegetarian menu. We were led into the dark room by a blind waiter, who asked us to place our hands on the person in front. The waiter then took us directly to our table. The food tasted great and it was definitely a challenge to eat! Your senses become heightened in the dark, and I felt like I actually tasted the food. I now appreciate my eyesight more than ever. I did not even bother to pour the water into the glass because I was worried about spilling it all over the table! After we had eaten, we were shown photos of the food! The fun part was guessing what we were eating!

I don't think I'll ever forget this experience! I actually have a fear of the dark, but luckily for me, my friend was there to take care of me ;) I highly recommend this restaurant - it's a once in a lifetime experience!

After the restaurant, I went to a cocktail bar called Golden Bee, which is in Shoreditch. I devoured on Haribo and Apple Crumble cocktails - so delicious! The atmosphere in the bar was amazing too! I love finding really cool restaurants and bars - there's so many in London that I have yet to experience!

Have you been to either of these places?

Lil Miss Resourceful: Castor oil for eyelash growth

Recently, I have noticed that my eyelashes have become thinner. Unfortunately L'oreal have stopped selling their eyelash serum (or maybe they do sell it, but it's always sold out in Boots and Superdrug), so I decided to look for more natural methods to increase the thickness of my eyelashes.

Cue a Google search, and I found the secret ingredient - Castor oil!

After reading several reviews on the Internet, I decided to purchase it from Amazon for a mere £3 (including delivery charge for a 100ml bottle)

The first time I used it, I applied the oil directly on my eyelashes using my fingers, just after removing my eye makeup. The next morning - I noticed thicker eyelashes! The results were so quick it was unbelievable! You can also use a cotton bud to apply the oil on your eyelashes.

I have been using Castor oil for several weeks now and have noticed a major difference to my eyelashes. They are not necessarily any longer, but definitely thicker and healthier!

The great thing about Castor oil is that it is natural and cheap! You can even apply it to your hair and eyebrows to promote growth!

I love this oil! It's definitely something that I cannot live without right now (especially with the amount of mascara I apply!)

Have you ever used Castor oil?

Lil Miss Innovative: Emobox review *

If you're anything like me, then you've probably lost a few USB sticks in the past!

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Emobox, who asked me whether I would like to try their USBs. When I saw that their USBs came in the form of a necklace, bracelet and a card - I immediately said yes! I love innovative and practical technology!

I've showed this necklace to my friends and family, and everyone looked so surprised when I showed them the USB! My mum and sister both want one! This would make a lovely and thoughtful gift for any female! The company also sells USBs for men (in the form of wrist-lets)

It is no ordinary necklace!
Open it up... (the necklace is magnetic, which makes it easy to close!)
Wallet drive

Emobox also sell a 'Wallet drive' which slots inside your computer! I carry this inside my wallet - which prevents me from losing it!

The necklace retails at £13 and the wallet card retails at £12! Both store up to 8gb of data.

Lil Miss Homely: Homeware haul! #

Hi guys! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Last week, I decided to go to Ikea with my parents to buy some home decor items! Apart from makeup and health, my other passion is interior design! I just love browsing through interior design blogs and thinking about how I would decorate my own house! I love anything that is vintage inspired!

I purchased this gorgeous plant pot from Ikea. It cost £2. I was initially going to use it to store my makeup brushes, but it was far too big for them! Instead, I store tea lights inside this plant pot! I also added some fake flowers for decorative purposes :)

As I was browsing in Ikea, I found the most perfect makeup brush holder! It's vintage inspired, and big enough to house most of my brushes. I added beads to the holder in order to hold the brushes upright. You can buy beads from any craft store. This makeup brush holder was very cheap too - it cost £2.25!

I also went to Next, and picked up this beautiful table lamp from their 'Vintage Inspired' collection. It matches the decor in my room perfectly! It cost £18 - which again is a very good deal!

I adore the detailing on the lamp!

The next item I purchased is not exactly 'home decor', but this hand cream complements my room really well! It's also very sanitary (due to the pump) and smells of coconut (one of my favourite scents!). I purchased this from M&S for a mere £2.

I have blogged about Jelly Belly candles before, but I decided to purchase some more! They are highly fragrant and relatively cheap (£5 a tin). The packaging is slightly tacky, and definitely does not complement my room - but they smell fabulous! I purchased these from this eBay shop.

I also purchased some storage boxes from Ikea. I decided to buy 6 boxes and place them on top of my book shelf! I store items which I don't use a lot! My drawers are quite empty now which is great!

The last thing I purchased from Ikea was this bed throw. It's a gorgeous cream texture which makes my room look more cosy and comfortable! It cost £20. I also decided to take a photo of my iPhone - as I am in love with the case! My lovely brother bought it for me for Christmas!

Here's the favourite part of my room! My lovely candle holder from Oasis (Isle of Wight) just stands out so much!

Where do you buy from home decor from?

Lil Miss Moisturised: Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil review

Since I was a child, my mother has always taught me the importance of moisturising your body. I've been moisturising my skin religiously since I was a child, and now my skin is super soft and I don't have many stretch marks or cellulite. I used to suffer from dry skin, but since improving my diet (eating flaxseeds daily) - my skin is currently 'normal'.

A few weeks ago, I ran out of body cream, and popped over to Boots to buy a new one. As it's Winter, it's even more important to moisturise!

I found the Garnier Body Ultimate Beauty Oil on offer at Boots for £5.33 as opposed to £7.99. The only oil I've used on my body is Johnson's Baby oil (and that was years ago), so I was excited to dry this out.

What drew me to this product is that it contains: Argan, Macadamia, Almond and Rose. It also doesn't contain any parabens (most body moisturisers have parabens in them, and studies have shown that they can increase the risk of cancer!)

The smell of the product is divine. It smells quite sweet (must be from the Rose) and also quite relaxing at the same time.

The product applies like a dream! It's non greasy and weightless. It doesn't transfer onto clothes and lasts a long time (I pretty much run of out body cream in a few weeks, but with this product, I've still got half left).

To apply this product, I simply spritz it on my hand and then apply it all over my body. I find that easier than spritzing it straight onto my body.

The packaging is great for travelling - sometimes body creams are quite bulky but this product slots in my makeup bag quite easily :)

I love this product, and I would definitely buy it again! £7.99 is very reasonable. It does feel like a luxury product and it doesn't contain many nasty chemicals!

You can purchase it from Boots or Superdrug's.

Lil Miss Cosy: Jelly Belly candle review *

First of all - hope all of my readers had a fabulous Christmas!

If you are a beauty blogger, no doubt you are a fan of candles! This time two years ago, I thought they were a waste of money, although after reading copious amounts of beauty blogs and watching Youtube videos, I've developed a slight obsession about them!

Candles make your room look pretty and cosy. Perfect for cold Winter nights :)

One of my favourite candles is by the Jelly Belly company. They are inexpensive and make your room smell heavenly!

I purchased this candle from Topshop for a mere £5.

It smells of 'Toasted Marshmallow' - if I could describe it then it would smell of an overload of caramel and vanilla! This candle has a burn time of approximately 16 hours.

If you're looking for a cheap and strong smelling candle, I highly recommend the Jelly Belly company!

They also have many other delicious flavours: Bubblegum (my sister has this and she LOVES it), Blueberry. Coconut, Lemon Lime. Strawberry Cheesecake, Crushed Pineapple and more!

You can also buy them from the official Jelly Belly candles website, ebay or Amazon

Have you ever tried these candles?

Lil Miss Aromatic: D&G The One Review

I decided to treat myself to ANOTHER perfume a few weeks ago. I found this on BuyaPowa for £35 gone down from £52 - so I decided to buy it straight away! I love bargains - they make me so happy!

I have lusted after the D&G perfume for a long time - probably years, but I never got round to purchasing it.

This perfume is PERFECT for evening wear. It's so 'womanly', elegant and expensive smelling - it's definitely my favourite perfume right now!

It's quite difficult to describe a perfume in a blog post, but here are the notes:

Top notes: Mandarin, Peach, Bergamot and Lychee
Middle Notes: Jasmine, Muguet, Madonna Lily
Base notes: Vanilla, Amber, Musk, Vetiver, Plum

 Summary:
PriceYou can purchase a 50ml version for around £42, which is worth it because it smells amazing!
Longevity: This perfume pretty much lasts all day!
Scent: Very elegant - great for adults (more so adults than teenagers)
Packaging: Very classic and simple.
Repurchase: Yes!

Have you tried this perfume?

Lil Miss Aromatic: Viva La Juicy Perfume Review!

I recently decided to treat myself to two new perfumes (the other one being D&G The One - which I will be doing a separate post on). I have finally become bored of Pink Sugar - which is far too sweet for me!

I have never been compelled by the Juicy Couture brand - their bags and clothing simply did not appeal to me. On the other hand, their perfumes have always tempted me! I've been meaning to purchase Viva La Juicy for a long time, but I finally got round to buying it a few weeks ago!

This scent is perfect if you're into sweet smells - it would make a great gift for any girly girl ;) It contains my favourite scents: caramel and vanilla!

It's quite difficult to describe a perfume in a blog post, but here are the notes:

Top Note: Wild berries and Mandarin Orange
Middle Note: Honey suckle, Gardenia and Jasmine Base
Base Note: Amber, Caramel, Vanilla, Sandalwood and Praline

I personally think that this perfume is great for using at work or school - although it's not so bold enough for evening wear.

Summary:
PriceYou can purchase a 50ml version for around £37, which is pretty good value!
Longevity: This perfume doesn't last as long as I hoped! It's also not very strong - which is a shame, because I adore the scent!
Scent: If you love Pink Sugar, Britney Spears Fantasy - but you want a milder version, then this is the perfume for you!
Packaging: I love the packaging! This perfume stands out compared to my other perfumes! Some may say it's tacky, but I love the bow and the Juicy necklace hanging of it! So cute!
Repurchase: Yes!

Lil Miss Organised: Makeup storage *

Since starting my new job, I've barely had any time to get dressed up in the morning! I'm always looking for ways to organise my room in order to make my life easier! When I first started blogging, I was buying lots of products, and building a massive collection. As time has gone by, I've started to cut down on the number of products I buy and actually wear and appreciate them.

I went to Primark last week, and found this beauty for a mere £5! It's perfect for storing my everyday makeup! It even blends in well with the decor of my bedroom.
The bag
The detailing
The makeup
I store all of my everyday makeup in here. The rest of my makeup goes in a massive box with lots of drawers (I will be blogging about that in the future). I love how this bag opens up at the top, which allows for easy access!

How do you store your makeup?

Lil Miss Greasy: Batiste dry shampoo does it again!

So Batiste have done it again, and come out with a few more dry shampoos! The two new additions are called: Paisley and Graffiti.

Paisley and Graffiti

Out of the two, Paisley is my favourite, because it has top notes of: Grapefruit,Lime and Cassis, middle notes of: Jasmine, Rose,Apple,Raspberry and Patchouli and base notes of Musk, Caramel and Vanilla (these are my favourite scents)

Graffiti on the other hand has top notes of: Apple, wild berry, grape and citrus. It has middle notes of Jasmine, Lily and Iris and base notes of Musk, Coconut, Sandalwood and Cedar.

What I've noticed about these new bottles is that the scent lingers for longer! Whenever I use dry shampoo, I always use it the night before (you can also use it for a Halloween party) and I blow dry my hair on the cool setting in the morning to remove any residue! It usually works a treat!

These cost £2.99 each and are exclusive to Boots :)

Batiste have also come out with a limited edition trio (containing Mamba, Savannah and Wild)- which would make a fabulous stocking filler!

These are very convenient because of their size, especially for me because I travel a lot!

This limited edition pack costs £4.99 and is available at Boots :)

Disclaimer: I was sent these products for free in consideration for a review. Honest opinion as always!
