Lil Miss Greedy: Glorious food!

Whilst I was in Mexico, I ate lots of food. Enough food to put on a few kilos! Although thanks to the heat, a little bit of exercise and cutting down on portion sizes, I managed to lose weight!

In Mexico, I stayed in an all inclusive hotel - which meant unlimited food all day! It actually is a recipe for weight gain (no pun intended)

Holidays are about having fun though, which is why I decided to eat, drink and be merry. I did set myself a limit, because gaining weight will definitely not improve my mood!

Here are some photos of some fab foods I tried during my Mexico:

Mocktails! I limited it to one a day! They are full of sugar and lots of calories!

I tried to make sure that half of my plate was full of salad - the rest full of 'real food'

I made sure to drink plenty of water. Did you know, that your body cannot tell the difference between hunger and thirst? If you think you are hungry, simply drink a glass of water!

Desserts - I am a sucker for them. I did end up only eating fruits in the last week of the holiday though!

Some of the food in the market

Exotic fruit - tastes delicious (sorry, forgot the name)

This is what it looks like inside :)

Mexican food - refried beans, rice, fajitas - yum :)

Fruit covered in syrup

Vegetarian sushi - delicious!

Vegetables with tofu

Fried rice - DELICIOUS!

Mixed vegetables

Our very own Japanese chef!

Cooked pineapple

Cooked banana with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

The beautiful Italian restaurant in our resort

I tried to eat lots of vegetables during the meal
Vegetable lasagne
Yummy pizza - I could only muster 1 slice! I tried to leave a bit out - just because you have food on your plate, it doesn't mean that you have to eat it ALL!
Tiramisu
Ice cream

Can you control yourself whilst you are on holiday?

Lil Miss Tanned: Mexico, in photos :)

Hi guys! I just got back from Mexico! I have to say, it's the most beautiful country I have ever visited! I will definitely go back there!

I stayed at the Grande Sirenis Riviera Maya Hotel - which was amazing! It was the first time I stayed in a 5 star resort, and it definitely met its' expectations! Here is my review on Trip Advisor

Here are some photos :)

The gorgeous beach in our resort
I did yoga in here :)
Swim up bar - how convenient!
Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen
Beautiful bar!

Beach :)
Delicious fruit!
Ready to go clubbing! I tanned so much!
Dinner time!
The hotel grounds
Beautiful pool :)
Chichen Itza
Mexico
Beautiful colours
Zip lining in the jungle
Lazing about, in the lazy river ;)
Tips:
  • The weather was generally pleasant (I went from the 6th to 20th of July) but it did rain a few days! On the last day of our trip, there was a major storm! I nearly got swept away! The locals told me that it is best to visit Mexico from November to June. I actually appreciated the rain in Mexico - I hate it when it's too hot! If you are a Sun worshipper, then definitely avoid August, September and October!
  • If you go to Mexico, you have to visit Chichen Itza, which is said to be one of the wonders of the world. It was built by the Mayan people. The Mayan people have prophesied that on 21st December 2012, the world is going to end! There will be lots of people flocking to Chichen Itza this year to find out more about doomsday
  • I also went to Xplor - an adventure island which involves zip lining, driving through caves, swimming and rafting through caves. It was amazing - definitely check it out, especially if you are an adrenaline junkie :)
  • I also went swimming with dolphins, which is one of those once in a lifetime experiences (although I will definitely be doing it again). Dolphins are such wonderful creatures - I even got kissed by one :)
  • Spanish is the main language in Mexico, so it could be a good idea to brush up on some words before you go there, although most people do speak English
  • I am going to do another post on what I ate in Mexico - and a few tips on avoiding weight gain on holiday!
  • If you have any questions, feel free to email me or tweet me

Are you going on holiday this year?

Lil Miss Tanned: I'm back!

Hi guys, I just got back to sunny old London! I went to Mexico for 2 weeks - so I haven't been able to post in a while!

My Internet has been really slow and my laptop has also died! I will be doing lots of blog posts once everything has been sorted out!

I will be back soon :)

Lil Miss Refreshed: Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks *

A few months ago, I was sent some Montagne Jeunesse Skin Heroes face masks. Unfortunately, my skin is chemically sensitive, so I told my friends and family to review them for me :)

I'm sure you have heard of Montagne Jeunesse Masks - they sell them nationwide in Boots, Superdrugs and major supermarkets.

As the years have gone by, Montagne Jeunesse have certainly widened their range - there are masks for men, masks in a variety of ingredients and also masks for different parts of the body!

Unfortunately, my laptop died so I lost the photos I took of the face masks! I had to steal some from their website.

T-zone peel off:

My best friend Nisha tried out the T-Zone peel off mask. Nisha has combination skin. This mask has green tea and witch hazel.

Here is what she thought ''It felt tingly when I put it on, and if you've got sensitive skin, it may be too much. I left it on for the required time but some patches were not dry when I tried to peel it off, so I had to wash it off. My skin did look clearer and cleaner afterwards, but it didn't do anything for my spots. There was also a moisturiser in the pack too, which felt quite refreshing. There's also too much information on the pack - in lots of different languages, making it difficult to read the instructions''

Shine control mask:

Nisha also reviewed the Shine control mask. This mask contains acai berries and argan.

What Nisha thought 'Mask smelled nice, it had a light flowery smell. It also had argan oil in it which is very appealing.  It also felt very moisturising and my t-zone was not oily afterwards and my skin looked very matte. There was plenty of moisturiser though, so I ended up putting it on my arms.  I would definitely use it again''

Dry skin mask:

My mother reviewed the dry skin mask. My mother has normal skin - it's not dry at all but because she's in her 50s, I decided that extra moisture might benefit her ;) This mask contains raspberry, blueberry and grape.

' This was one of the best face masks I have ever used. It made my skin feel very moisturised and silky - it definitely felt heavenly. I wasn't too keen on the smell (my mum despises fruity smells). I would definitely purchase this product! '

Break out mask:

My best friend Nira reviewed the 'Break-out mud face mask' which includes tea tree oil. Nira has combination skin.

'This face mask was really good, it matted my face well. There was lots of product and it was easy to apply, with a nice smell. The downside is that if you leave it in for the full time it says, it is really hard to take it off so I had to scrub my face hard, which made my face red'

  • These face masks cost £1.49 and are now available in ASDA.
  • These masks are also suitable for vegetarians and they always look to use natural ingredients.

This product was sent to me for consideration of a review. Honest opinion as always!

Lil miss organised: Perfume storage +

Hi guys - sorry about the lack of blogging! Full time work is definitely taking over my life - and I need to start building up some kind of structure for my blog!

I've recently started to change some elements of my room! My tastes have changed quite a lot since the past few years. I prefer to keep my room looking fresh and chic, with a touch of vintage.

I purchased this perfume holder from Next a few months ago - after falling in love it! It looks beautiful in my room!

Perfume Storage: Next Jewellery box: Laura Ashley, Candle Holder: Oasis (Isle of Wight) Candle: Yankee (Soft Blanket)
