Lil Miss Rosh: Orly Color Blast Review +

I love painting my nails. It's something I look forward to doing every weekend (I avoid wearing nail polish to work). If you read my blog, you may have noticed my love for Orly nail polishes!

Orly color blast have come out with some new shades - 72 shades with 9 different finishes to be precise.

The Essex girl inside me opted for the 'Bronze chunky glitter' nail polish.

I like the design of the Color Blast bottle compared to the previous bottles! The glitter is easy to apply and looks even more beautiful when it catches the light - perfect for the summer!

I ended up pairing it with the Barry M Pale Pink nail polish! What a beautiful combination!

You can purchase Orly Nail Polish at Boots (it retails at £9.50)

What's your current favourite nail polish?

Lil Miss Impressed: My current favourite nail polishes +

My idea of the perfect nail polish:
  • Easy to apply
  • Lasts for a long time
  • It has to be easy to remove
I've tried many nail polishes - both high end and 'drug store' but my favourite has to be the Barry M Gelly Nail Paints!

I am so impressed by the quality of the nail polishes. I've had many compliments when I have worn these colours and someone even asked me whether I had a gel manicure!

Summary:

Any disadvantages?
I wish the nail polishes came in more shades!

How much do they cost?
Barry M nail polishes are relatively cheap. They cost £2.99 or you can get some buy one get one half price in Boot's stores.

Where can I buy them from?

Lil Miss Glamorous: Orly Preamp +

Orly nail polishes really are the top of their game.

When I was sent this Barbie Pink nail polish (with a surplus of gold glitter) a few months ago, I fell in love. It looks like your typical glittery pink shade, but on closer inspection, it is saturated with gorgeous specks of glitter.

I'm a massive lover of the colour pink, and I probably have around 15 different shades of pink nail polishes in my drawer, but this colour stands out! It's perfect for all seasons, and you can get away with wearing it at work.

This shade is not as streaky as some of the other Orly nail polishes I have tried. Be warned though, it does take quite a while to dry!

This nail polish is from the 'Electronica Collection', which came out around July.

Lil Miss Cold: Orly Platinum +

Even though it's meant to be summer in the UK, the weather has been very temperamental! It rains most days - although it's not as cold as Spring. Thank god for that :)

As the weather has been quite dull lately, I decided to wear an icey colour, in the name of Orly Platinum.

Orly Platinum is a gorgeous molten silver shade, which applies quite thickly. It is very streaky so I recommend that you shake the bottle quite a few times prior to application!

It's the perfect Winter colour - but can be worn in pretty much any season in Britain ;)

You can buy Orly nail polishes from Amazon, Boots (mainly in store, the website has a small selection only) and  Beauty Bay (for a mere £7.50)

Lil Miss Summery: Orly Lola +

In Britain, the weather is fabulous, although it's bank holiday soon and I'm pretty sure it's going to rain (I've noticed that it rains every bank holiday)

I was recently sent this fabulous nail polish from Orly. It's the most gorgeous colour, and is definitely my current favourite nail polish! It is not streaky, and I only needed two coats for the desired effect.

This colour definitely reminds me of summer - which is only a few weeks away :)

Here are some photos:

How much does it cost?
The price does vary. I've seen it for £10 in some places and £7 in others. You can buy the smaller bottles for about £5.

Where can I buy it from?
Amazon, Boots (mainly in store, the website has a small selection only) and  Beauty Bay (I have never purchased from this website so I can't be held accountable for its' service)

Lil Miss Glittery: Orly nail polish in Stone Cold +

As you may know, I go through several obsessions each month. This month's obsession is nail polish. I used to wear it once a week, and now it's several times a week! I have been loving Orly nail polish in Stone Cold, which is a dark blue polish with a surplus of glitter. I own several dark blue nail polishes but Orly is definitely the best. It has the longest staying power and a greatest accentuation of the glitter.

This colour is from the Orly Mineral FX Collection.

Here are some photos:

Maybe it's not the most work appropriate colour, but you can definitely get away with it at a party :)

This photo does not justify the polish!

Summary:

What is the packaging like?
The packaging is very original and has a rubber tip, which makes opening the bottle so much easier! I've dropped the bottle several times and it did not shatter. It seems to be bigger than an OPI nail polish.
Any disadvantages?
Make sure you shake the bottle well, otherwise the nail polish will separate! This accounts for all nail polishes, but I've noticed I have to shake more with Orly.

How much does it cost?
The price does vary. I've seen it for £10 in some places and £7 in others. You can buy the smaller bottles for about £5.

Lil Miss Natural: Orly Nailpolish in 'Nite Owl'

I have to admit, I have lots of nail polishes! Even though I have a vast collection, I don't have any nude colours, well until Orly sent me 'Nite Owl'.

You may or may not have heard of Orly! If you read beauty magazines you will know that the brand is often sported by celebrities. Orly was founded by Jeff Pink in 1975, who was motivated by a simple idea: to innovate natural nail care. All of the products are free of DBP, toluene, formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin.

This nail polish is from Orly’s new autumn collection, Birds of a Feather. The collection uses iridescent shades and a strong palette to create varnishes which are reminiscent of beautiful flocks of bird feathers.

I have received so many compliments on this colour! I personally believe that it's a great colour for the workplace. I actually couldn't stop admiring my nails from afar.

The colour has tiny particles of glitter embedded onto it!

Summary:

What is the packaging like?
The packaging is very original. The nail polish is larger than most conventional nail polishes and has a rubber top. I feel that the packaging is very sturdy.

How long does the nail polish last?
This lasted around 3 days before it started chipping. This is pretty impressive for my nails! OPI nail polishes tend to chip in a few hours on my nail lol! I applied two coats and let it dry. I didn't even use a top coat!

How much does it cost?
The price does vary. I've seen it for £10 in some places and £7 in others.

Where can I buy it from?

I haven't done a NOTD post in ages! Hope you guys enjoyed it x

Lil Miss Review: Barry M Pale Pink

As I posted in my earlier haul post.. I purchased some Barry M Colours. I also purchased the Barry M Pale Pink nail polish. (rrp. £2.95)

Here's a photo of the bottle:

Here's a photo without flash:

Here's a photo with flash:

Unfortunately my camera is not really picking up the colour THAT well. The nail polish is much brighter in real life, and is very similar to the Barry M Polish in 'Bright Pink'. I was expecting a baby pink colour, but after two coats it looked much brighter. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty colour but I was expecting it to be more muted. I always apply two coats with Barry M nail polish because the first layer is always uneven on my nails!

I did say in my earlier blog plot that I don't have any pale pink nailpolishes... I meant to say 'I don't have a similar pale pink to this' LOL.

Here's some other pink colours I've accumulated:

In order:
1) Bourjois 'Rose Lounge'
2) Eyeko 'Pretty Polish'
3) Barry M Pale Pink
4) Barry M Bright Pink

I've got more pinks but they are much brighter and darker. I have included the 'Bright Pink Nail Polish' because it looks like a brighter version of the pale pink. I prefer the eyeko pretty polish to the Barry M Pale Pink.. even if the eyeko polish doesn't last as long!

Summary:
Colour: Pale Pink
Price: £2.95
Longetivity:First time I am wearing this particular Barry M colour but all Barry M colours last quite long!
Texture: I preferred the consistency of the pale purple nail polish. I found this one quite runny and after the second coat the colour changed dramatically.
Packaging: I like it. Bit too small for taking NOTD's LOL
Repurchase? Probably not! It's a really dupe-able colour. You probably even have something that looks like this in your collection. I kinda regret because I've amassed soo many pinks haha!

Has anyone else tried this colour ? xx

Btw.. sorry about my ugly nails!! Will try and sort them out soon lol xx

Lil Miss Manicured: NOTD of the Barry M Pale Purple

I bought this lovely colour from Superdrug yesterday =D As I said in my previous post, I love Barry M nail polishes! They have an amazing colour range, glossy finish, great price (rrp. £2.95) and are easily available..(Well in the UK anyway)

Here's the bottle:

Here's a photo without flash: (Sorry about my unmanicured nails.. I need to sort them out!!)

Here's a photo with flash:

It's a gorgeous milky lilac that glistens very beautifully.. however I feel that the colour is kind of washed out in comparison to the colour of my hands?? I prefer Gosh Wild Lilac in terms of colour, but I prefer the consistency and the finish of this polish.

On a further note.. I'm covering my hand with the tiny bottle (this totally defeats the purpose LOL).. so you can barely see the bottle! Dammit.. why are the bottles soo small lol

Has anyone tried this yet?
