Lil Miss Review: Barry M Pale Pink

As I posted in my earlier haul post.. I purchased some Barry M Colours. I also purchased the Barry M Pale Pink nail polish. (rrp. £2.95)

Here's a photo of the bottle:

Here's a photo without flash:

Here's a photo with flash:

Unfortunately my camera is not really picking up the colour THAT well. The nail polish is much brighter in real life, and is very similar to the Barry M Polish in 'Bright Pink'. I was expecting a baby pink colour, but after two coats it looked much brighter. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty colour but I was expecting it to be more muted. I always apply two coats with Barry M nail polish because the first layer is always uneven on my nails!

I did say in my earlier blog plot that I don't have any pale pink nailpolishes... I meant to say 'I don't have a similar pale pink to this' LOL.

Here's some other pink colours I've accumulated:

In order:
1) Bourjois 'Rose Lounge'
2) Eyeko 'Pretty Polish'
3) Barry M Pale Pink
4) Barry M Bright Pink

I've got more pinks but they are much brighter and darker. I have included the 'Bright Pink Nail Polish' because it looks like a brighter version of the pale pink. I prefer the eyeko pretty polish to the Barry M Pale Pink.. even if the eyeko polish doesn't last as long!

Summary:
Colour: Pale Pink
Price: £2.95
Longetivity:First time I am wearing this particular Barry M colour but all Barry M colours last quite long!
Texture: I preferred the consistency of the pale purple nail polish. I found this one quite runny and after the second coat the colour changed dramatically.
Packaging: I like it. Bit too small for taking NOTD's LOL
Repurchase? Probably not! It's a really dupe-able colour. You probably even have something that looks like this in your collection. I kinda regret because I've amassed soo many pinks haha!

Has anyone else tried this colour ? xx

Btw.. sorry about my ugly nails!! Will try and sort them out soon lol xx

Lil Miss Random:8 random things in my bedroom!

So.. I've just finished some coursework (left till last minute ofcourse.. oops!), and I've decided to treat myself by doing a blog post ♥

I thought I might do something random today.. nothing related to beauty!

I've basically picked out 8 randoms things from my room that will show a bit of my personality and basically show you how I've accessorised my room! I'm a little more than a materialistic, superficial person hahaha =D

I think this is meant to be a tag.. I saw it on youtube ?? Anyway.. if you're reading this.. I tag you.. make sure u link your page on the comments so I can read it. I love knowing about what is in peoples room.. I'm very nosy like that hehe :P You don't have to do 8.. i don't know why I did 8 lool!

1)Anyway.. the first thing I have in my room is a toy:

yes a toyy!! It's basically a night lamp that plays a lullaby when you turn the dial. My mum used to turn it on at night when I was a baby and it would ease me into sleep; and I still have it. AND it still works!! It's going strong 20 years later! I would say I'm really sentimental; little things like this make me happy. I'm definitely going to pass this onto my children hehe!♥

2)The next thing I have in my room is my christmas tree!

It's also my favourite colour : pink!(Purchased from Paperchase). I know you're not meant to keep the decorations after January (or something like that), but I can't help it...otherwise it would have no home! I love it though, reminds me of christmas (duh!) and I love christmas! Christmas is a feeling of togetherness and family. Even though I'm not Christian myself, I do celebrate it because it's such a beautiful, religious day.♥

3)The next item is my calender:

As you can see, it's not a normal type of calender. Actually it's not even a calender, just a date teller lol! I love it though, my parents gave it to me on my 11th birthday, and even though I don't change the date everyday, i find that it is a pleasure to look at. All the little bears are dressed up to represent the different months.. it's soo cute!! It reminds me to live your day as if its your last... make every day special :)♥

4)Moving on, I have my photo albums:

These are some pretty albums I picked up from Boots! I love the oriental design - so gorgeous! I've put some unused hair accesories on top of them for decoration. I love taking photos - not for the vanity, but for the memory! When I'm older I can look back on these and remember the old times! I have photos on the computer, but there's something about flipping the pages of a photo album that is soo pleasant :)

5)The next thing in my room is my religious symbol:

It's the 'Om' symbol. I would say I'm quite religious, so having this in my room is not unusual for me! One of the fundamental principles in my religion (hinduism) is Karma, which I am a great believer 0f.♥

6) The next thing I have is a lady bird:

A ladybird? Well a stuffed one! This is amazing, it's not even meant to be a cuddly toy(before you start thinking that I am a big baby LOL).. it's basically a cushion (if you separate the velcro) and when you put it back (like it has been shown in the photo) you can use it to rest your head on it (like in the car on a long journey for example). This feels soooo soft.. probably the softest material I have ever felt. My mum bought it for me from the Ideal Home Show. They are called 'My lovely pillow pets' (click on the link to learn more about them haha).♥

7) The next product are my dumb-bells:

I've recently been on a weight loss system, which incorporates exercise (woooo!). I've been using these with my Davina Fit DVD and the 'arms' section is amazing! My arms feel so much more toned straight afterwords. I like to do weights and cardios. These weights are only 1.5kg each - I might have to upgrade because I'm finding the exercises a bit easier now! Btw I highly recommend the Davina Fit DVD - amazing!!♥

8) The last item in my room.. is a doll:

This was given to me by my generous mum, and I believe that she purchased it in India! I've never actually seen an Indian doll.. and I think it's soo beautiful! I like having pretty things in my room - this doesn't really show my personality, but I love looking at it.. the detailing it amazing! (And I wish i had her stomach lol!)♥

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this excessively random post! I guess this doesn't really show much of my personality... well it shows im really girly and quite religious and sentimental.. but it was fun to do! Please do this tag =D would be fun to see what's in your room!!

Love from Roshas ♥ ♥

Lil Miss Chatterbox: 40 Questions =D

Skin care:

How many times do you wash your face daily?

Twice a day, even if If I wear no makeup.. I HAVE to wash my face, tone it, and moisturise..otherwise I can't sleep lol

What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
I have an oily noise.. everything else on my face is dry ..and recently I have been really sensitive to different products grrrr. I don't have an oily t-zone, just an oily nose. Weird!

What is your current facial wash?
Clear and Clear Deep Action Cream Wash - I love the refreshing and tingling sensation; the foamy consistency is also good for my dry skin.

Do you exfoliate?
Yes! I use Clinique 7 day scrub.. not amazing though! On the lookout for a good exfoliator...

What moisturizer do you use?
I use Lush Celestial all year round... it's amazing for dry and sensitive skin. Sometimes I use Nivea Soft Lotion at night time for extra moisture. I also use aloe vera everynight to further moisturise my skin and to reduce any redness.

Do you have freckles?
Yes.. one on the middle of my nose! I hardly notice it, and before I used to get really embarassed of it.. but it makes me different.. and i find it funny hahah! (having said that, noones mentioned it since primary school; kids can be so mean :P )

Do you use eye cream?
No, I broke out to a clinique one (it's my mums' so I can't remember which one it is). I really should be using one.. I'm trying to find one with spf in it. I hate putting creams on my eye area.. it feels weird.. and can cause puffiness (only if you use too much.. use a tiny blob.. too much can be damaging)

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Luckily.. no! However I did break out for like two months this year.. but there were only 3 spots.. I wouldn't really classify that as 'acne'.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
No.

MAKE-UP

What foundation do you use?
Even though I have dry skin, I use Mac Studio Fix Powder Foundation; this foundation provides a good coverage and looks amazing on camera! It's great to take on holiday (as it won't melt or get ruined by the heat) and it lasts for ages! However, it does show up my dry patches at times, but there's nothing that the fix + can't fix ;) I'm a C40. I've used NC40, which is ultra white on my skin! C40 is too dark.. I blame the MUA :(

How about concealer?
I use Mac Select Moisturecover. I love this! Excellent cover, does not dry out (great for dry skin). I've got it in NW30. I'm an NC, but due to the blue undertones on my undereyes, the MUA suggested the NW to counteract it; it really works!! I'm looking for a good concealor to hide any redness, I've got redness on the sides of my nose.. and it won't go! I give up lol.

Do you know your undertone color?
I have cool toned skin (I'm a C, or NC sometimes) and my undertone colour is yellow.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I love fake lashes! I only wear them on a night out though.. I personally think that it would take me forevever to wear them to work/uni and I really want to leave them for a night out for that extra touch of glamour! My favourite ones are the Naturalites one.. mainly number 101 and 107. I've tried the Cheryl Cole ones.. they are OK. They make me look really sleepy lol

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes, but I don't. This 'rule' doesn't take into account the type of mascara, how many times you use it, whether you use 3 coats or 1, how many times you put the pump in and out, where you store it, the size... and so on. I tend to chuck it away if it gets dried up or smells funny.

What brand of mascara do you use?
I use Dior Show mascara and I love it.. makes my lashes look so big.. but it dries out soo quickly! Waste of money in my opinion. With mascara, I think it's more about the application! If you know how to apply it properly, it makes a massive difference. I spend a lot of time on mascara, trying to coat each lash, and not over doing it. It's definitely worth it in the end. I've tried Benefit Bad Gal lash - overrated!! Drugstores ones are better.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
Nope - I want one though.

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
My sigma brushes <3>

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
Urban Decay Primer Potion. Great stuff. Looks pretty. I will not use anything else!

For the face?
I don't use anything, I have dry skin..so my makeup tends to stay on all day. I really want to try something for my nose.. however I'm not too bothered about it.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
I love cream shades for my eye lid, with a yellow based brown shade on the crease! These are great for daytime. I prefer matte shades, I feel that my eyelids are tad wrinkly..and glittery shades accentuate it. For night times I like bronze and khaki shades. Green makes brown eyes POP =D

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Pencil for water line, I hardly use liquid liner. It's all about Gel =D It lasts better and doesn't smudge. I use the Sleek Inkpot. If you are starting out with gel, try this! I use a slanted brush to apply it onto my lids.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
I've done it once this year, I believe.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?

I love them! I love the Barry M ones! I use them for night time! I prefer them actually to pressed eyeshadows.. I get a better colour payoff. My favourite dazzle dusts are : Rust (even though it's shimmery, it's not OTT), bronze and mint green. I know that they can cause a mess, but if you tap off the excess, they work fine!

Do you use mineral makeup?
I don't.

What is your favorite lipstick?
Tough one. This is always changing. Right now..ever hip my Mac. This is from the Libery of London Collection. Gorgeous coral colour, makes me look all summery. If you have olive skin tone.. this will suit youu!! It's limited addition though :(

How about lipgloss?
This is such a tough question.I will probably choose Lakme Lipcolour in Vanilla. It is one of the first lipglosses I bought, and it's a gorgeous nude with specks of shimmer running through it. It smells amazing, or a sweet vanilla essence (even better than Mac) and is severely underrated! I have yet to meet someone who owns it too! This is great if you're wearing heavy eye makeup and want to tone down your lips without looking like a ghost.

What is your favorite blush to use?
Benefit Dallas - expensive, inconvenient packaging, but apart from that.. it's a gorgeous pink colour that looks great on different skin tones. If you have fair skin, you could wear this as a bronzer, I'm in the middle I guess, and I wear it as a blusher, if you have darker skin.. it might not show up that much (it doesn't on my sister anyway and she's much darker than me.. shes an nc 44). Pinks generally do not suit me, but this colour is the one I use for night time and day time.

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
I used to buy Dior Mascara from there. I'm very precise though, I read the feedback from previous buyers to ensure I'm getting a real product! I want to buy makeup samples from there.. could help me decide whether I would want to buy the full product? I've bought some fake lashes from ebay.. got 40 lashes for 3 pounds. I will be elaborating on these!

Do you like drugstore makeup?
Yes.. Barry M mainly! I like collection 2000, avon (not their lipglosses though).

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)?
Nope.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
I'd love to, but I have no time, as I'm either at uni or working in the weekends. For now, I'll leave it to youtube to teach me lol.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Sometimes I don't blend properly, but I have my eagle eyed sister to laugh at me and point out my mistakes.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
Porn star lips.. by which I mean really dark lipliner compared to a lighter gloss/lipstick. Not very lady like!

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
I like neutral ones. Colourful ones are ok, but they don't really suit me. Green looks ok on me but I prefer bronze and brown; you can wear them well in a professional environment too.

Which celebrity always has great make up?
I love Kim Kardashion. I know it's super caked up, but that's how I like it on her. She always looks immaculate. I also like Jlos makeup.. she just glows.

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Probably concealor for redness and dark circles.

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
I've done it everyday for the past 4 weeks (apart from Saturdays when I go to work) because I've been studying at the library due to my lovely long easter holidays. I can do it, it is tough though and I feel insecure, but I save loads of time in the morning and I save my makeup remover wipes lol.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
To be honest, I don't. My eyes are really small and I like to define them. However I don't think I look horrid either. I just prefer to apply makeup, I feel more confident!

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I haven't tried that many. I would say Mac because I do have a lot of great products from there. Having said that, I have had quite a lot of misses with Mac. For drugstore I would say Barry M. Their colour range is amazing and I love their nail polishes too. Pity about some of the lipsticks!

What do you think of Makeup?
I love it. I love it soo much that I even have my own makeup blog about it. I love the whole process of looking at it, purchasing it, trying it on, taking photos and so on! When I was a child, I would sneak into my mums room and try on her lipstick! I've always been super girly! I wasn't allowed to wear it at high school because I school I went to was very strict, but I started experimenting after high school, and mainly wore eyeliner to accentuate my eyes. Now I've tried out different aspects of it, and im LOVING IT =D

Please, please, please do this tag! I'm intrigued! I tag everyone =D xx

Lil Miss Manicured: NOTD of the Barry M Pale Purple

I bought this lovely colour from Superdrug yesterday =D As I said in my previous post, I love Barry M nail polishes! They have an amazing colour range, glossy finish, great price (rrp. £2.95) and are easily available..(Well in the UK anyway)

Here's the bottle:

Here's a photo without flash: (Sorry about my unmanicured nails.. I need to sort them out!!)

Here's a photo with flash:

It's a gorgeous milky lilac that glistens very beautifully.. however I feel that the colour is kind of washed out in comparison to the colour of my hands?? I prefer Gosh Wild Lilac in terms of colour, but I prefer the consistency and the finish of this polish.

On a further note.. I'm covering my hand with the tiny bottle (this totally defeats the purpose LOL).. so you can barely see the bottle! Dammit.. why are the bottles soo small lol

Has anyone tried this yet?

Lil Miss Shopoholic: Mini Superdrug Haul!

After studying in my local library for 6 hours, I decided to pop into Superdrug to buy a facial sponge. When I went in I saw the Barry M counter and decided to look at the new Ice Cream Nail Collection, I walked around a bit more and found some more things that enticed me...anyway you get the gist! I even get 10% off because I'm a student.. so it's totally justifiable =D haha

Here's everything I got:

The first thing I bought was the 'Natural Cellulose Cleansing Sponge'.(rrp £1.69) I got this idea from Get Gawjus' blog, where she said that removing exfoliator using a sponge is much more beneficial for one's skin =D I'm going to apply my exfoliator and then buff it in my face and move it in circular motions for about two minutes. Hopefully I'll have clear, glowing skin. :)

The next thing I bought was the 'Soo eternal Perfume'.(rrp £5.99) I absolutely ADORE this scent. To be honest I love all of the 'So...' Body sprays and perfumes! They last a long time and have gorgeous smells, that I simply cannot pinpoint with any other perfumes I own. This scent is my favourite though.I first got to know this scent when I bought the body spray and I love it, I've even had a lots of people complimenting me about it! It's a sweet, pleasant scent. To me it smells like cake batter; however I wouldn't say it is overly sweet, it's definitely not in the regions of Britney Spears Fantasy.. If you want to try it, go for the body spray first! (There's a picture of the body spray too...which I bought months before.)

The next item I bought was the 'Nivea Hand Age Defying Cream'. (rrp £3.89) I've been looking for a handcream and for some reason I keep forgetting to physically take it to the checkout! Lol! I think hand creams are very important, many people forget about their hands and don't even apply sunscreen to their hands. Your hands are always visible and having weathered hands is not pretty (especially if you write a blog and take NOTD photos lol!). Having said that, I was quite ignorant to handcare! After years of washing them with very hot water and not applying cream after doing so, they are frankly not in the best condition that they should be (I'm only 20 and they look worse than my mums!) Anyway, it's not too late to start now is it? I bought a bigger size, not the usual travel ones I buy because they run out soo quickly and the bag I take to uni/work is massive, so why not? I've just applied this and its very soft and blends in easily. It hasn't got a particular smell, just that typical 'cream' smell.

The next items I bought were the lovely Barry M Nail Polishes(£2.95 each). The first shade (the purple one) is called 'Pale purple'. It's a gorgeous lilac colour which would look perfect in spring and summer. I love pastel shades so much right now! I'll do swatches of these in later posts! The next shade I bought is called 'Cyan Blue'. This is not from the new Icecream collection, in fact it's my second one (I dropped my other one and it shattered and dried out!) I love this colour! (Otherwise I wouldn't have bought a replacement lol)It's a gorgeous blue which applies on easily, it stays on for a few days and has a glossy finish. The last nail polish I bought is the 'Strawberry Ice Cream' one. It's a pretty muted pink; this colour can probably be duped easily, but I like the consistency of Barry M Nail Polish and out of my vast collection of them.. only one has failed me (it's no. 722 - it's a glittery green which doesn't even show up..makes your nails look mouldy! Eww!) I also don't have a pale pink.. and everyone needs a pale pink right? ;)

Here's my collection of Lilacs/ Purples. They all look soo different! I love the GOSH nail paint (wild lilac) , it's a beautiful colour! If you are interested in a purple nail polish, I highly recommend this! On another note, the Collection 2000 nail paint in dynasty looks more like a pale pink on my nails. It doesn't even last that long. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

What have you bought recently from the drugstore?
Have you tried the Barry M nail paints? If so.. I want to know =D

Lil Miss Complexion: My skin care routine!

Skin care... something that I think is very important. If my skin doesn't look good.. then my makeup doesn't look good.. and if I have good skin, I feel more confident (thus wear less makeup).

My skin care routine is quite simple.. I've tried loads of different brands but I always seem to go back to the same products! I feel that if a product works for me, then I might as well carry on using it! I don't believe that your skin gets 'used' to a product; if your skin likes the product then it will show that it does by looking great!

About two months ago I used Mac Studio Fix Foundation which made me break out like crazy! I was always used to having clear skin and totally not ready to have loads of spots! To rectify this, I tried different brands to remove the spots... some products made me break out even more (will be doing a separate post of these!)

These are the staple items in my skincare routine! I love all of them <3 The first one is my exfoliator..it's by clinique.

It's the seven day scrub cream which is a great exfoliator for my combination (mostly dry) skin. I wouldn't say it's amazing, as it is quite abrasive and I definitely would not use it every day, but my skin does seem more bright after using it! I only use it twice a week.. over exfoliating isn't too good either! Dryer skin is much more thinner than oilier skin.. hence over doing it would be too harsh for it! (Note : It doesn't contain parabens.. yay!)

The second product is my clean and clear deep action cream wash!

This is my daily skin wash. I've used this product on and off for five years!! I keep going back to this product because it makes me feel refreshed, it keeps my skin clear and it's really cheap! It also doesn't contain any parabens (which are nasty cancer causing chemicals) It also doesn't break out my very sensitive skin. It's weird because I've tried Organic Surge products and they broke me out...my skin is quite odd!

The next product is my toner. I use Rose Water:

What can I say? This product is amazing! Not only is it ultra natural.. it also removes excess cleanser, eye makeup residue and even closes your pores! I love this.. I bought it at my local Indian store.. it cost about 75pence?? I've tried the Lush one.. I liked it at first, but it was getting expensive.. and it contains loads of parabens. I might as well stick with the cheapest and probably much more healthier toner?

The next product is celestial moisturiser from Lush.

This moisturiser is aimed at those with sensitive skin.. I suffer from sensitive and dry skin, and as the product is quite thick, tt moisturises well. It's really makes my face glow! I'm currently on my fifth tub!

Pros:
  • Moisturises well.. doesn't make my skin feel tight.
  • My skin seems to glow afterwards.
Cons:
  • Relatively expensive.. cost me about £10.25.. the small tub lasts me for about 2 months, and I do use it in the morning and at night.. so it's not THAT bad.
  • Also.. contains parabens.. was quite surprised! Lush promote themselves as natural and handmade..yet they use these deadly chemicals? However, this is the only moisturiser that works for me.. so i'm willing to bypass those nasties :P
  • Used to smell like milky way..now it smells more 'chemical'... i wish they could revert back to their old formula!!!

The next staple is my Johnsons 3 in 1 facial night wipes.

These wipes smell amazing.. the lavender scent really calms you down.. it's actually a joy to remove your makeup! Even though it says that it's suitable for all skin types, I think not. After removing my makeup with these..my skin is coated with oil (well it looks like oil). Obviously I then cleanse, tone and moisturise, but this product is more suitable for people with normal-dry skin. I've tried the other makeup removing wipes.. but I just love the smell! They are usually on offer for about £4.00 for two packets! Not bad!

The next product is the most recent addition to my skin care routine! It's the lovely aloe vera gel!

I purchased this from Holland and Barretts for about £3.00. I actually got the idea of using it after reading Oxford Jasmines Blog. Anyway, she said it's great for dry skin; however, after suffering from mild acne I wondered if this would help it?? I used it one night, and when I woke up.. all my spots had literally shrunk! It was soo weird!! This product is a life saver! I still use it every night (and if I'm at home all day then I put it on in the morning) and it really works! On another note.. I hate the feeling of it! It literally clings onto your skin and makes it feel really tight (even though it's good for dry skin). Even though the feeling of the product is off putting.. the results are not! For £3.00 you get loads of products. I recommend this to anyone with dry skin or with spots!

The next product is the chocolate mask.. from Montagne Jeunesse.

This product is readily available in Superdrugs and Boots and it retails for about 99p per mask. I tend to stock up on them when there's a three for two offer haha! I love this mask! I've used loads of different masks, but this mask seems to make my skin glow and look very clean. I tend to use it before parties to ensure my skin look clear. It's literally the ultimate treat. It smells like chocolate too! This particular mask is aimed at those with normal to dry skin. I use it every two weeks and I have always seen a major difference in my skin after removing it.

Pros:
  • Great moisturising effects.
  • My skin looks visibly clear.
  • Satchet - great if you're travelling and don't want to take bottles.
  • A lot of product in the satchet.
Cons:
  • The price: I know 99p isn't a lot of money, but if you use it every week..it adds up!
  • Takes AGESS to remove.
  • Leaves a lot of mess!
So this is my skin care routine! A part of me wants to try new products, whereas another part of me wants to keep this routine as it seems to be working!

What do you use for your skin care?

Lil Miss Review: Sleek Glo Highlighter.

I purchased the sleek face and body highlighter in November, and have been using it on every night out since then!! I purchased the shade 'peach shimmer' as I felt that it would compliment my skin the best. It retails for £4.99, which is quite cheap for a highlighter in my opinion! (This is the highlighter I am wearing on my main picture =D it shows up on my crappy iphone camera haha!)

Here is a photo:

Sorry about the fall out, I've dropped it several times (I'm quite clumsy with objects lol).

I tend not to use the brush that's been given as there's loads of fall out of the hairs, and once I ended up with loads of the hairs on my face (ewww)... I tend to use a Sigma 224 brush to accurately highlight my browbone and cheekbone.

Here's the finished look on my face: (Once again sorry about the pouting haha!)
I know I've gone a bit overboard with it, but I think it really does show up, which is quite good for £4.99!

The negatives:
However, as much as I love the shade of this product and its' great value... I don't like the consistency of the powder..it's literally too powdery. I suffer from dry skin, therefore this really accentuates the dry parts on my cheeks. I wish there was a liquid alternative to this?? I do still use this product though because none of the other highlighters show up on my skin. Another problem I have with this product is that if I mix all the colours, the darker shade dominates and it looks like I've drawn a brown mark on the top of my cheek! Weird!! I wish they could have somehow placed the colours in order of gradient!

Summary:
Colour: Peach shimmer
Price: £4.99
Longetivity: It's lasts all night and there was no fall out!
Texture: Needs a big improvement! Looks ultra false.. I end up using loads of fix + to tame it.
Packaging: It's very sleek..haha well it's ok.. the highlighter actually came off when I dropped it.. it needs more protection I guess. Also, even though the brush is very soft.. there's far too much fall out so that needs to be improved!
Repurchase? Probably not! I want to try from other companies, as I've only recently started getting into highlighers. I think the colour pay off is amazing, but for people like me who suffer from dry skin.. it's not the best thing to apply.

Whats your favourite highlighter?
Have you tried this product before, if so.. what did you think of it?

Lil Miss Review: Mac Pink Plaid Lipstick *

Upon entering Mac, I decided to try out lipsticks (like I always do), and a colour that I have been continuosly swatching was Mac Pink Plaid (Matte). I don't know why I was always drawn to it.. I have loads of pink lipsticks and lipglosses but this colour always seem to stand out amongst the others! It's a gorgeous blueish-pink which looks like a soft muted pink in real life, but looks retro-ey and bright in photos! I usually look at Makeup Alley Reviews before buying anything (especially Mac), but this colour may have fazed any thoughts at that time!!

Some photos of me wearing it... sorry about the posing.. I can't help it, hehe. You can see that this colour is quite bright in flash photography! In my opinion, it is a wearable Barbie Pink. I probably wouldn't wear it out on its own on a night out (as I tend to put loads of eye makeup I feel the need to neutralise my lips).. it in need of some Body Shop Oui Oui Oui Butter (which is amazing at muting down colours!!)

It looks so different here .. .could be due to a rubbish camera and no flash.. but this is how it looks in real life!

Both of these were taken before a party! However, I would definitely wear this lipstick on a daily basis, as it's quite a soft pink without the flash and I always could use the Body Shop oui oui oui butter to mute it even more! The lipstick reminds me of Saint Germain, but Saint Germain is even more of a 'bubble-gum' pink and it is much lighter; for me... Saint Germain is really unwearable!

Summary:
Colour: Mac Pink Plaid
Finish: Matte
Price: £12.50
Longetivity: I felt that it lasted quite long! It's a matte and I feel that Matte lipsticks stain my lips.
Texture: Can be quite drying.. therefore I use Carmex to moisturise my lips in advance! I'm really loving Matte Lipsticks at the moment! I think they look more sophisticated.
Packaging: Well it's Mac.. so i love it! I love how sleek the mac lipstick packaging it!
Repurchase? I'm not sure anymore. Blue toned lippies do not suit my colouring! Revlon Pink Pout is a better dupe in my opinion! I actually haven't worn this since. I'm considering selling it.

Has anyone tried this lipstick?
If so.. what do you think of it? Would you repurchase it?
Do you wear it with any other lipsticks/ lipglosses or other mediums??
I'm really interested because I love recommendations! There's sooo many different combos and it would be great to mix and match =D

Hope you all enjoyed reading my first proper beauty post :) wooo
