Lil Miss Royalty: Batiste Brit Dry Shampoo review! #

Hi guys! Hope you're having a fabulous Thursday evening!

Is anyone excited about the Royal Wedding? To be honest, I'm not too bothered about it - I'm going to spend tomorrow studying, working out and organising my bedroom..and I may watch a few clips of the wedding on YouTube!  (I wonder what Kate will wear?)

Anyway, Batiste very kindly sent me their new dry shampoo! If you're not familiar with dry shampoo then you're missing out! Dry shampoo helps revitalise your hair between washes. I've been using Batiste Dry Shampoos since I was 17! It is a LIFE-SAVER - especially as my hair gets greasy very quickly!

Where can you buy it from?

How much does it cost?
£2.19 (Superdrug)

How long does it last for?
It depends on how much you use, and how many times a week you use it! Mine typically lasts for about 2 months.

What does the 'Brit' one smell like?
The Brit dry shampoo has a pleasant 'fresh' smell. I can barely smell it once it's on my hair though!

How do you use it?
The major problem with dry shampoo is the white cast it leaves on my hair. I know that Batiste do coloured dry shampoos so you can check them out if you have darker hair. As my hair is black, it does tend to leave an obvious white mark, therefore I use spray it (30cm away) onto my hair before bed. When I wake up..there usually is a little bit of white residue left, which I brush out. The reason I use it as night time is because it absorbs much better! I tend to use it every other day (and the day after I've used it, I wash my hair with real shampoo lol)

Any other advantages?
I used to wash my hair every other day, now I wash it every 3 days. Washing it less has made it stronger (as I'm using less heat!). Also, dry shampoo gives me volume too! The fact that it is so cheap and available at many stores and there's plenty of different types is also a bonus.

Any disadvantages?
The white cast - however if you brush it out, it will disappear!

Also, you can win your very own Crown Jewels, worth £1000 (in Love to Shop vouchers which can be used on the high street including all leading jewellers). Simply hot foot to Superdrug or visit  www.superdrug.com
where you will find full details of how to enter this exciting competition!

 What are you going to be doing tomorrow?
Any anyone tried Batiste dry shampoos?

Lil Miss Healthy: Benefits of Wheatgerm

Hi everyone! I thought I would do a health related post today!

In my previous health related post, regarding the Green Monster smoothie, I mentioned adding wheat germ to it!

I once read that wheat germ is GREAT for pimples (my skin has been playing up recently), therefore I decided to buy some!

What is Wheat Germ?
A grain of wheat is also known as the ‘wheat kernel’ or ‘wheat berry’. This is the seed that grows into wheat grass as we see it in fields.

Wheat germ is a good source of:
* B vitamins such as folate, niacin, thiamin, and vitamin B6
* Calcium
* Complex carbs
* Fiber
* Iron
* Magnesium
* Manganese
* Omega-3 fatty acids
* Phosphorous
* Potassium
* Protein
* Selenium
* Vitamin E
* Zinc

Also.. it is considered to be one of the HEALTHIEST foods!!! Being vegetarian, I need more protein and iron in my diet!

How do you use it?

I add 2  heaped spoonfulls of wheatgerm to my Green Monster smoothie (a smoothie consisting of banana, spinach and milk) everyday! Since I've been drinking the Green Monster smoothie I've noticed a big difference in my health. I have way more energy, I'm fuller for longer (less snacking) and my hair and nails have grown faster!!

Unfortunately I still break out quite a bit.. but I guess I can't have everything right? ;) LOL

Benefits of Wheatgerm?

Healthy skin: Vitamin E also is good for anti-aging and keeping the skin looking young and smooth.
Healthy hair: Want your hair to look fantastic? If so, add some wheat germ to your diet. Wheat germ contains thiamin, which contains an important vitamin in keeping your hair strong and natural looking. Thiamin is also good for the bones and skin.

Weight loss: Wheat germ helps in the battle of the bulge, too. Vitamin B6 found in wheat germ is important in keep the body’s metabolism going strong, and if the metabolism is going strong then the body is burning more calories. Thus, less weight. Also, Vitamin B5 found in wheat germ helps in the body’s energy production, and a higher energy production means more calories burnt.

There are lots more! Read about them here

Where can you buy it from?

I purchased mine from Holland and Barrett! I know that Tesco other supermarkets sell it too - but when I went there, no one seemed to know what it was.

Has anyone tried the Green Monster smoothie?
Has anyone tried Wheatgerm?

Lil Miss Greedy: What I want from Dorothy Perkins!

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a fab weekend! I went to Dorothy Perkins yesterday and was pleased to find that it was full of lots of lovely garmets! I feel like Dorothy Perkins is extremely underrated! DP has lovely clothes with decent price tags! The clothing is a little bit more mature as opposed to TopShop and Miss Selfridge - but I persoanally prefer that :)

Here is what I'm loving from DP:

Do you like Dorothy Perkins?

Lil Miss Green: Face of the Night :)

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't blogged in a while - I've been so busy with work, studying etc. etc.!

Anyway, I went out last night to an Indian restaurant called 'Les Porte des Indes' in Marble Arch. It was kinda expensive (I don't really dine out in expensive places.. being a student and all) but the food was nice :) The atmosphere and service was AMAZING! I would definitely recommend it!

This is my makeup look. I went for simple eyes, a slight coral lip and bronzed cheeks :)

Here is what I wore:
I'm SUPER sorry about the dirty mirror! I wore this lovely dress (here's my post on it). I did end up wearing tights though, as the dress was quite short!

Lil Miss Sporty: India won the Cricket World Cup!

Hi guys! I know this post has NOTHING to do with health and beauty.. but I had to blog about this!

On April 2nd 2011, India beat Sri Lanka and won the Cricket World Cup after 28 years!
I went out to town to celebrate! Here are some photos:

I will never, ever forget yesterday. It was a magical day! It was super busy - we were driving around waving at random people! Even people who weren't from India were joining in! There was people on bus stops, people dancing in the middle of the street, people putting flags on lamp posts <3 The streets were alive!! I think I must have liked every single status on Facebook too!

Did anybody else join in the celebrations?
