Lil Miss Shopoholic: £12 Body Shop Haul

If you read this post, you may know about the Body Shop Groupon deal. The deal consisted of spending £12 and receiving a £30 body shop voucher - what an AWESOME deal. Unfortunately, this deal is over :(

I purchased two vouchers. With the first one, I purchased a Shimmer Wave bronzer for my mum, and a candle (Soft Linen), as well as a solid perfume (Love etc.)

I went to the Body Shop yesterday as the voucher is running out this month. This is what I bought:

Body Shop Shimmer Waves in Bronze. (Perfect bronzer for the summer!)

Body Shop Shimmer cubes palette no. 6. (I wore them today, and I'm super happy I chose these!)

Mango Shower gel (sample bottle - great for travelling!)

As I spent over £25, I receieved a free gift:
It included a Vitamin E mascara, Big and Curvy mascara as well as a hand and nail treatment.
All this for £12? Bargain!

Have you come across any great bargains?

Lil Miss Astonished: Makeup Crush - Shay Mitchell *

 This is the first of my 'Makeup Crush' series, where I will be showing my favourite makeup looks by celebrities!

After watching 'Pretty Little Liars', I have been in LOVE with Shay Mitchell's makeup! (No pun intended as Shay plays a girl who is confused about her sexuality).

 I love her makeup! Literally every single lip colour suits her! I also adore her hair - gorgeous, glamorous waves which looks extremely healthy!

:) Lil Miss Pondering: In and Out =

Hi guys! Hope you guys are enjoying your ultra long weekend!! :)
Anyway, here are my In's and Outs for April!

In:
Pretty Little Liars. I'm hooked to this show. I only started watching it yesterday and I'm loving it! It's super girly.. and super mysterious! If you love Gossip Girl, I'm sure you will LOVE this.

Zante! My friends and I decided to go to Zante instead of Egypt (not sure if it's safe to go to Egypt?). I can't wait! I know for sure we're going to go clubbing every night! Thinking about Zante has given me the motivation to work out!

Speaking of exercise.. I worked out 5 days in a row this week.. something I've NEVER done before. My aim is to work out six days a week.. it's essential to have a rest day. Currently I'm switching between Jillian Michael's DVDs along with some ab and pilates workouts by Suzanne Bowen. I know I have exams coming up.. but exercising makes me want to work harder; It also makes me feel in control.

Maxi Dresses. As I'm going on holiday this year - I would love to buy a few Maxi dresses! I don't own one at the moment but I'd LOVE to wear one ! I adore this photo - now to find an exact replica....
Action movies/ Thrillers. I was never a big fan of action movies until I watched Inception and Law Abiding Citizen. They are definitely must see movies!!!

Wheatgerm - I'm loving adding wheatgerm to my smoothies! My nails are growing - and they are WAY stronger! I need that extra protein in my diet due to my workout routine. Here is my post on wheatgerm, just in case you're wondering.

Royal Wedding - although I wasn't interested initially .. I was taken aback whilst watching it! Kate looked out of this world! I loved her dress,  hair and makeup! I'm so glad I tuned in.. it is history in the making!

Out:
My skin. My skin has gone worse this month :( The more I stress about it, the worse it gets. I'm trying to cut down on the number of products.. and also cut down on caffeine. Argh! All I can say it.. thank god for makeup LOL!

Nude Lipsticks: this time last year, I was wearing Nude lippies such as 'Mac Peachstock' and 'Mac Cherish'. However, I think that nude colours wash me out! Throughout April I was wearing a lot of corals and pinks! I might try and experiment more with lip colours this month - I have too many lipsticks... and they NEED to be used up lol.
Biscuits. I've been eating far too many biscuits this month. My aim is to cut down on the devastatingly tasty sugary snacks - it's not doing much for insides is it? I do get hungry REALLY quickly.. so I'm trying to find foods that will fill me up...

Last month's aims. Did I stick to them?
1) Work out every other day - I worked out everyday in the last week.
2) Try a new smoothie recipe - FAIL lol.
3) Keep room super organised - I've kept my makeup box organised. That's it. lol
4) Set work/ uni bag the night before - FAIL.

Aims for May:
1) Do some YouTube workouts.
2)Cut down on blogging during the week, due to exams (That includes reading blogs :( )
3) Don't experiment with anymore skincare products.

What are your Ins and Outs?

Lil Miss Royalty: Batiste Brit Dry Shampoo review! #

Hi guys! Hope you're having a fabulous Thursday evening!

Is anyone excited about the Royal Wedding? To be honest, I'm not too bothered about it - I'm going to spend tomorrow studying, working out and organising my bedroom..and I may watch a few clips of the wedding on YouTube!  (I wonder what Kate will wear?)

Anyway, Batiste very kindly sent me their new dry shampoo! If you're not familiar with dry shampoo then you're missing out! Dry shampoo helps revitalise your hair between washes. I've been using Batiste Dry Shampoos since I was 17! It is a LIFE-SAVER - especially as my hair gets greasy very quickly!

Where can you buy it from?

How much does it cost?
£2.19 (Superdrug)

How long does it last for?
It depends on how much you use, and how many times a week you use it! Mine typically lasts for about 2 months.

What does the 'Brit' one smell like?
The Brit dry shampoo has a pleasant 'fresh' smell. I can barely smell it once it's on my hair though!

How do you use it?
The major problem with dry shampoo is the white cast it leaves on my hair. I know that Batiste do coloured dry shampoos so you can check them out if you have darker hair. As my hair is black, it does tend to leave an obvious white mark, therefore I use spray it (30cm away) onto my hair before bed. When I wake up..there usually is a little bit of white residue left, which I brush out. The reason I use it as night time is because it absorbs much better! I tend to use it every other day (and the day after I've used it, I wash my hair with real shampoo lol)

Any other advantages?
I used to wash my hair every other day, now I wash it every 3 days. Washing it less has made it stronger (as I'm using less heat!). Also, dry shampoo gives me volume too! The fact that it is so cheap and available at many stores and there's plenty of different types is also a bonus.

Any disadvantages?
The white cast - however if you brush it out, it will disappear!

Also, you can win your very own Crown Jewels, worth £1000 (in Love to Shop vouchers which can be used on the high street including all leading jewellers). Simply hot foot to Superdrug or visit  www.superdrug.com
where you will find full details of how to enter this exciting competition!

 What are you going to be doing tomorrow?
Any anyone tried Batiste dry shampoos?

Lil Miss Healthy: Benefits of Wheatgerm

Hi everyone! I thought I would do a health related post today!

In my previous health related post, regarding the Green Monster smoothie, I mentioned adding wheat germ to it!

I once read that wheat germ is GREAT for pimples (my skin has been playing up recently), therefore I decided to buy some!

What is Wheat Germ?
A grain of wheat is also known as the ‘wheat kernel’ or ‘wheat berry’. This is the seed that grows into wheat grass as we see it in fields.

Wheat germ is a good source of:
* B vitamins such as folate, niacin, thiamin, and vitamin B6
* Calcium
* Complex carbs
* Fiber
* Iron
* Magnesium
* Manganese
* Omega-3 fatty acids
* Phosphorous
* Potassium
* Protein
* Selenium
* Vitamin E
* Zinc

Also.. it is considered to be one of the HEALTHIEST foods!!! Being vegetarian, I need more protein and iron in my diet!

How do you use it?

I add 2  heaped spoonfulls of wheatgerm to my Green Monster smoothie (a smoothie consisting of banana, spinach and milk) everyday! Since I've been drinking the Green Monster smoothie I've noticed a big difference in my health. I have way more energy, I'm fuller for longer (less snacking) and my hair and nails have grown faster!!

Unfortunately I still break out quite a bit.. but I guess I can't have everything right? ;) LOL

Benefits of Wheatgerm?

Healthy skin: Vitamin E also is good for anti-aging and keeping the skin looking young and smooth.
Healthy hair: Want your hair to look fantastic? If so, add some wheat germ to your diet. Wheat germ contains thiamin, which contains an important vitamin in keeping your hair strong and natural looking. Thiamin is also good for the bones and skin.

Weight loss: Wheat germ helps in the battle of the bulge, too. Vitamin B6 found in wheat germ is important in keep the body’s metabolism going strong, and if the metabolism is going strong then the body is burning more calories. Thus, less weight. Also, Vitamin B5 found in wheat germ helps in the body’s energy production, and a higher energy production means more calories burnt.

There are lots more! Read about them here

Where can you buy it from?

I purchased mine from Holland and Barrett! I know that Tesco other supermarkets sell it too - but when I went there, no one seemed to know what it was.

Has anyone tried the Green Monster smoothie?
Has anyone tried Wheatgerm?

Lil Miss Greedy: What I want from Dorothy Perkins!

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a fab weekend! I went to Dorothy Perkins yesterday and was pleased to find that it was full of lots of lovely garmets! I feel like Dorothy Perkins is extremely underrated! DP has lovely clothes with decent price tags! The clothing is a little bit more mature as opposed to TopShop and Miss Selfridge - but I persoanally prefer that :)

Here is what I'm loving from DP:

Do you like Dorothy Perkins?

Lil Miss Green: Face of the Night :)

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't blogged in a while - I've been so busy with work, studying etc. etc.!

Anyway, I went out last night to an Indian restaurant called 'Les Porte des Indes' in Marble Arch. It was kinda expensive (I don't really dine out in expensive places.. being a student and all) but the food was nice :) The atmosphere and service was AMAZING! I would definitely recommend it!

This is my makeup look. I went for simple eyes, a slight coral lip and bronzed cheeks :)

Here is what I wore:
I'm SUPER sorry about the dirty mirror! I wore this lovely dress (here's my post on it). I did end up wearing tights though, as the dress was quite short!

Lil Miss Sporty: India won the Cricket World Cup!

Hi guys! I know this post has NOTHING to do with health and beauty.. but I had to blog about this!

On April 2nd 2011, India beat Sri Lanka and won the Cricket World Cup after 28 years!
I went out to town to celebrate! Here are some photos:

I will never, ever forget yesterday. It was a magical day! It was super busy - we were driving around waving at random people! Even people who weren't from India were joining in! There was people on bus stops, people dancing in the middle of the street, people putting flags on lamp posts <3 The streets were alive!! I think I must have liked every single status on Facebook too!

Did anybody else join in the celebrations?
