Hi guys! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend! The weather was beautiful yesterday - it definitely cheered me up :)
Anyway, I made my very first Green Monster today! The Green Monster is basically a juice consisting of spinach, banana and some milk! I know.. that sounds disgusting, but it's really, really tasty!
I first heard about the Green Monster through Victoria at Lily loves Lola. The Green Monster originated from a blogger called Angela Liddon at Oh She Glows. Read more about the Green Monster here :)
Anyway, the Green Monster is extremely tasty.. and gives you lots of energy! It's a great way to pack in your 5 a day! My aim is to replace my usual breakfast (consisting of Indian tea and 2 toasts with margarine) with a Green Monster drink! (Or another vegetable/ fruit juice).
Recipe:
You will need:
- 2 cups of spinach.
- 1 cup of milk (I chose cows milk but I'm going to try soya, rice or almond milk next time)
- 1 banana
- Ice (we didn't have any at home but I will use it next time!).
Next.. you need to BLEND, BLEND, BLEND.
And you will get this :) A gorgeous, tasty, vitamin enriched drink :)
I'm also going to add some wheat germ in my drink next time, as I've heard it's great for your skin!
Have you ever heard about the Green Monster?
Do you ever make healthy juices?
I would love to find an alternative to my usual unhealthy breakfast of Indian tea/coffee and wheat crisps.
ReplyDeleteI used to be addicted to bread but I realised my body could not quite digest it like others and I left it completely since then. Within one week I noticed I lost inches from my waist and my stomach was not bloated like before. All coz of bread! It's evil you know hehe.
@Shifa - i might do that! I eat far too much bread.. i also have a sandwich for lunch! I might cut it out but what else do i have for lunch? LOL That's amazing though - 1 inch in a week! x
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really weird but I will try it out!
ReplyDeletebesos,

@Roshas - Hunny try those veggie/salad/humous wraps from M&S or Pret. The tortilla in which these are wrapped is pretty thin and digestible in my opinion. They are filling and yum too :)
ReplyDeleteI've only had a green monster once and it was way nicer than I thought it would be. The thought of spinach really put me off but you can't taste it at all!
ReplyDeletep.s I'll be at the Benefit event on Thurs and hope to see you there xx
@Get Gawjus - that's a good idea! I might make my own - just to sace some money :)
ReplyDelete@Tass - i love spinach - im suprised I couldn't taste it at all! I don't like the tate of cows milk at all so I'm going to use something else! I'm not going on Thursday - I've got too much work to do :(:( Maybe another time! x
